The Art of DJing is Musicaholic’s popular DJ course, designed for anyone who wants to discover the creative art of DJing and learn how to turn music into an experience.

Hosted at The Melting Spot – Attitude, Beau Plan, the course brings Musicaholic’s music culture and creative approach into one of Mauritius’ growing creative destinations.

From understanding how DJ equipment works to beatmatching, phrasing, track selection and transitions, students build the technical foundations needed to DJ with confidence. But the real focus goes further — into music, creativity and expression.

Students explore how to build energy, create tension and release, combine tracks creatively, use effects with intention, and develop the ability to tell a story through music. They learn to listen differently, understand musical structure and make creative decisions rather than simply following a formula.

The course also introduces students to the culture behind electronic music — from musical influences and DJ culture to developing a personal taste, discovering new sounds and beginning to shape their own artistic identity.

And the experience doesn't stop in the classroom.

Students learn and experiment in the Melting Spot Amphitheatre, before taking their skills into a real performance environment and playing on the rooftop — putting their musical choices, creativity and newly developed skills into practice.
